Dovecote

Many affluent households in the Bolognese countryside maintained a tower for breeding doves for the production of meat and fertilizer.

The dovecote (la puleṅna di pizóṅ) was sometimes incorporated into the building, but was more often a stand-alone structure.

Here it is located close to the icehouse.
